Services

The services of the Central Florida Speech and Hearing Center can be categorized into: The Literacy and Language Initiative and The Adult Communication program.

The Literacy and Language Initiatives comprised of the following programs:

  • Auditory Processing Disorders (AP) Testing and the "FastForWord" therapy program
  • The Cleft Palate Clinic for children with cleft palate and other facial deformities
  • The "Hanen" Project for preschool children, their parents and their preschool teachers.
  • The A.C.E. Charter School for Academic & Communication Excellence
  • The ABR & OAE Diagnostic Hearing Evaluation program for infants and Toddlers.
  • Preschool Outreach Speech Therapy for Polk County Preschools
  • Individual speech & language therapy

The Adult Communication Program includes the following programs

  • The Stroke Support Group
  • Florida Telecommunications Relay Inc. (FTRI) telephone equipment for deaf, hearing impaired, visually impaired and speech impaired individuals.
  • Individual hearing testing for patients of all ages
  • Hearing Aid evaluation, selection, sales and repairs
  • Assistive Listening devices
