Central Florida Speech and Hearing Center is pleased to announce it has received a $7,500 grant from the George W. Jenkins Fund within the GiveWell Community Foundation. These funds will support the purchase of developmentally appropriate books for many children throughout the year.
The Language to Literacy (L2L) program is designed to provide books to children in Central Florida, that receive speech/language or hearing services at Central Florida Speech and Hearing Center.
“We are very appreciative of this grant. Often times, the books we give children are the only books in their homes,” says Center’s President/CEO, Roxann K. Bonta. “Supporting reading is part of the 3 step communication process we focus our efforts on. Children must: Hear to speak, speak to read, read to write.”
